In 1922 Akris was founded by the grandmother of Albert Kriemler, Alice Kriemler-Schoch, in St. Gallen with just one sewing machine. In 1945 her son Max followed. In the next 40 years the couture house Akris expanded worldwide. Today, Akris is one of the most popular collections which is sold at over 500 shops worldwide. The Swiss family produces still for other fashion houses, such as Hubert de Givenchy, Ted Lapidus, ...
