MOUNTAIN STYLE
fall/winter 2009/10

  • fashion by Vaude, Peak Performance, Falke, Carrera, Jockey
  • beauty by La Roche-Posay

The new season starts with several events in the Alps organised by fashion labels from the sports field.

Teamrider wanted!

Events for women

In November 2009, the label for female boardriders Roxy invites snowboarders to join the brand's team. They have place for 16 athletes in the German/Austrian Roxy Camp and you will get the chance to be sponsored for one year. (Find out more on snowboardermbm.de/

In the same month, Roxy announces on its website roxy.com that the next annual 'Roxy Chicken Jam' 2010 will happen from 8 to 10 January 2010 in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Austria.

Events for women and men

Blanc/IT from 20 Nov 2009 to 7 March 2010 into the Austrian, Swiss, German and Italian Alps. Ski specialists will guide the tours kaestle-ski.com.

The outdoor sports fashion brand Vaude invites to the opening 2010 skiing tours that will be guided by certified skiing instructors and mountain specialists from 15 to 17 January 2010 in the town of Hirschegg located in Kleinwalsertal, Austria.

"The summit ascent kicks off early in the morning: with snow crunching under the skis – the approach is made step by step. One merges into the surrounding nature, with the summit lying before one’s eyes. The rewards are many: amazing views and untouched deep powder slopes. The evening is then spent relaxing after a hard day’s work in the Walserhaus in Hirschegg, listening to extreme mountaineer Stephan Keck’s lecture – this is what the VAUDE Skitouren Opening is all about," states Vaude about its event vaude.com.

fig.: from above (all fashion pieces are from the fall/winter 2009/10 collections; beauty pieces available in 2009):

  • Vaude style (photo by Klaus Kranebitter): the orange 'Titlis Jacket' with ChiVent technology (a ventilation system that directs warm air outward without using any zips) is made for ski and snowshoe tours.
  • 'Kelim stripe cap' by Peak Performance
  • 'Energizing Socks' by Falke especially made for skiing
  • 'Everest' sports-sunglasses in vintage style by Carrera are developed to protect against wind, ice and sun in extreme weather conditions of the glaciers.
  • 'Wolfram Gloves' by Vaude with special ice climbing silicon features.
  • 'Dynamic Jacket' by Peak Performance
  • Striped men sports-underwear by Jockey. The boxers are from the collection 'Lake District' which is inspired from the blue tones of the British lakes and its earthy-smoky mountains.
  • 'Fernie' base long sleeve and long john by Peak Performance
  • 'Nipa'-bag by Vaude for the essentials with a peg for easy organisation in the hotel room
  • One part of the body is stressed by the cold weather the most: the face. Good skin care can help against ice and wind. After some years of research, La Roche-Posay has released in 2006 the creme 'Nutritic' that was tested before by the polar explorer Nicolas Vanier in Ojmjakon in Siberia. This place is known for -50 until -67,7 Celsius! Apply the creme in the morning.
  • Winter wonderland can burn the skin much easier with the help of all the shimmering reflections of the snow diamonds. Advice: protect your skin with 50+ (UVA/UVB) delivered by 'Anthelios XL' from La Roche-Posay. This creme is small enough for your pocket and protects the skin even from the cold weather. For the eyes and the lips you can use easily the stick.
