PORZIA T
spring/summer 2011

Swimwear design which follows the idea of 'pureness'

In April 2011, the Italian lingerie label Porzia T, founded in 2008 by fashion designer Paola Tessariol, presented pieces from the 'Collezione Belmonte' (lounge-, swimwear, accessories) made of silky fabrics and decorated with pearls and Swarovski crystals.

fig.: Diana sail bra with Cassandra brief, Eco turban and Mopsa bag from the Collezione Belmonte; all pieces are in white. The bra, brief and turban are decorated with pearls; on the bag, Swarovski crystals are forming a lily which is the logo of Porzia T. The lily stands in heraldry for pureness.

Paola Tessariol named her label after the character Porzia, who represents in 'The Merchant of Venice' by William Shakespeare a beautiful, noble, and passionate woman. The 'Collezione Belmonte' refers to the place where Shakespeare's Porzia lives.

About Shakespeare's Porzia: In 'The Merchant of Venice', Porzia appears dressed up as a male lawyer in front of the court, where (s)he delivers arguments by following the frame work of the law - regardless if the arguments are unjust - to save a man's life from another man who has shown no will to be merciful, but insisted on a legal and cruel judgement.

The video shows the 'Collezione Privata' (lingerie) which is made for 'private eyes'. It is the third and most erotic line alongside to 'Collezione Belmonte' and 'Private Beachwear' (both lounge- and swimwear) porziat.it.
