Tencel and lycra in one single yarn for jeans that stay in shape

In late November/early December 2013, cellulosics producer Lenzing (headquarters in Austria) presented the collaborative new material for denim fabrics together with Invista such as via blog posting about Première Vision Fair in Paris.

Lenzing is known for materials which are used in many different industries such as home interior (video about beauty sleep sheets produced from Lenzing's tencel fibres that make an old man young again:-). In fashion, the fibres rayon, modal, or tencel are very common and used by consumers worldwide. Cellulosics are environmental friendly products. They are won from woods of trees and can acquire qualities of almost all other fibres such as silk or cotton; it is often not possible to make out differences without special testing. That's the reason why cellulosics are often mixed with other fibres into one yarn. Last mentioned Lenzing label 'tencel' is part of the new, single yarn for denim fabrics. The other part of the durable, silky and smooth yarn comes from Invista, producer of the stretch fibre known as lycra. The single cellulosics/stretch yarn was developed for keeping the jeans in shape. Details about the tencel/lycra yarn development are published on lenzing.com.

The video introduces into the making of cellulosics and the benefits for jeans.
