When people make robots for shaking their drinks
On 15 May 2013, the robo bar driven by the crowd-sourced recipe app Makr Shakr premiered at the developer conference Google I/O in San Francisco. The Makr Shakr bartender system is designed by researchers at the MIT Senseable City Lab in Cambridge in collaboration with Coca-Cola and Bacardi. The movements of Makr Shakr's three computer arms are inspired by the gestures of ballet dancer
Roberto Bolle (La Scala opera house in Milan,
American Ballet Theater) in collaboration with Italian director and choreographer Marco Pelle. First, the movements of Roberto Bolle were filmed and than used for programming the robots.
The Makr Shakr robots' output (non-alcoholic or alcoholic drinks) is derived from the input of the users who send their recipes via Makr Shakr app to the robo bar.
It is announced that the system can monitor, among others, your alcohol consumption and blood alcohol levels - sounds like the robots are perhaps not the discreetest bartenders.
