100 DAYS OF ACTIVE RESISTANCE
Collaboration between Vivienne Westwood and Lee Jeans
Fashion and political activism
On 25 October 2010, the 'resistance'-image of the day on the collaborative website ar100days.com of the British designer Vivienne Westwood and US jeans label Lee is entitled 'The Fight Goes On Against AIDS'. The image shows the creative duo (photography, short films) Susie Q & Leo Siboni.
The collaboration between Westwood and Lee went online on 28 September 2010 and will run for 100 days until 5 January 2011. Vivienne Westwood: "The principal idea of Active Resistance is that you get out of life what you put in and that real experience of the world involves thinking."
The 1st picture in the gallery comes from an Australian user who submitted an image of a crowd of people on the street representing 'people's voice'. The posting is followed by visualisations of thoughts on the environment and on things that make life worth to live. But you can also find very personal reports like the one from Haiti on day 22 of the online-project.
Users are invited to submit their own interpretation of Vivienne Westwood's 'Active Resistance' online on ar100days.com.
The video '100 Days of Active Resistance' gives an impression of personal activism. The first step is to open the eyes...
