Discovering culture in the 21st century

Kazakhstan born (1969) female artist Almagul Menlibaeva's work about the various cultural influences on the people in Kazakhstan is presented in the exhibition '21st Century: Art in the First Decade' from 18 December to 25 April 2011 at the Queensland Art Gallery, Australia.

The exhibition '21st Century' explores the art of the last 10 years and how our world is reflected in contemporary art works (over 200) by more than 120 artists from over 45 countries (Australia, Asia, the Pacific, Africa, Europe and the Americas).

Children will find an extra section at the 'Children’s Art Centre', where interactive art works and projects created by exhibiting artists are inviting to discover the world in the twenty-first century.

Details about the exhibition and an own blog with reference material and content provided by artists can be found on qag.qld.gov.au/exhibitions/coming_soon/21st_Century.
