From 14 June to 16 September 2012, the MQ - MuseumsQuartier in Vienna focuses with exhibitions, performances, catwalk shows, films, discussions and kids workshops under the title 'Summer of Fashion' on the experience of fashion and art. To mention only a few events like the exhibition 'Technosensual: where fashion meets technology' (until 2 September), the 'frame(o)ut' screening festival (until 25 August) with focus on fashion, or the exhibition 'Reflecting Fashion' which runs until 23 September.

What fashion scientists would never dare!

Facts and fiction - two shows, two approaches to fashion on 4 and 8 August 2012 at the 'MQ Summer of Fashion' in Vienna.

On 4 August 2012, the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum) presents the results of scientific research on clothing on the 'Catwalk into the past' with garment pieces from the Early Stone Age to Baroque at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna.

The guests of the 'Catwalk into the past' show will receive deeper insights into textile materials through time, the development of fabrics, the progress of manufacturing and will experience 'fashion' through thousands of years in the context of historical facts collected by researchers of the Naturhistorisches Museum.

The 'MQ Summer of Fashion' (14 June to 16 September 2012) approaches fashion from various disciplines and point of views; even history can be viewed from various perspectives.

A more spectacular approach to history will deliver the fashion show 'The History of Fashion' on 8 August 2012 with costumes which are normally used for film or theatre; which means that the pieces are adjusted for contemporary fashion taste and differ from original clothing of former times. What scientists would never dare to show, but there you will find it! 'The History of Fashion' starts with Adam and Eve costumes!
