During the London Olympic Games (27 July to 12 August 2012), California headquartered sports fashion label Oakley provides lounge and interactive design experiences at the Oakley Safehouse which is built inside the London Design Museum on the south bank of the Thames river. The house of the official eyewear outfitter of the US Olympic Team is open for media and more than 700 Oakley-athletes.
Highlight of the house is the Oakley Custom Eyewear Bar where athletes can design own creations from 11 models, more than 65.000 parts and 18 colors (inspired by the colors of the lines of the Londoner subway).

The house is designed for media and athletes to come together and relax in various special designed zones like an interview studio, lounge areas which are equipped with TV screens, restaurant, coffee and ice cream bars, and spaces for interactivity like the iPad gaming space, a Londoner red street telephone box which is enabled as photo booth or the Oakley design bar where eyewear can be customized.
