Mozart opera between airplanes, F1 cars and fashion

On 26 August 2013 during Salzburg Festival, the TV-station Servus TV (headquarters in Austria, Servus TV is broadcasting mainly in the region of the European Alps, belongs to the internationally working Red Bull Media House) will transmit live the Mozart opera 'The Abduction from the Seraglio' (Entführung aus dem Serail) from Hangar-7 at the airport in Salzburg.

It's the first time that Hangar-7 is used for a Salzburg Festival opera production. The location will be transformed for the Mozart opera into a fashion empire with race cars and airplanes where the guests become protagonists of the play while it will be broadcasted live via 16 cameras from various places of the hangar. There are no front rows at this fashion spectacle with evening gowns by Austrian designer Lena Hoschek, Mozart's music and a story about selflessness and love; except the row in front of the TV-device - according to the directors (Adrian Marthaler - director of the opera, Felix Breisach – TV-director) of the live-screening, the TV-sofa will be the only place where the opera (playing on around 14.000 qm) can be viewed in whole. (By the way: on 21 August, the tickets for the Hangar-7 were sold out; Servus TV runs a sweepstake for tickets and a dress by Lena Hoschek.)
