A ballet dancer's reflections on high-joaillerie

On 23 May 2013, the new ballet 'Reflections' created by stars from the dance, music and art world and inspired by the shine of precious stones will premiere at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris (on show until 25 May 2013). The creators: Benjamin Millepied, David Lang, Barbara Kruger, Van Cleef & Arpels.

'Reflections' is the new ballet by French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied. The former dancer of the New York City Ballet and new Director of Dance at the Paris Opera Ballet (from autumn 2014 on) is the founder of the art-music-dance collective 'L.A. Dance Project'. Movie enthusiasts know Millepied from his choreography for the film 'Black Swan' and beauty-fashion addicts have already seen him on ads for Yves Saint Laurent's perfume 'L'Homme Libre'.

The forthcoming ballet 'Reflections' was developed on occasion of the collaboration between the L.A Dance Project and Paris headquartered High Jewelry Maison Van Cleef & Arpels.

The figure (70x30mm) looks like a moment of movement frozen for eternity. The three Ballerina clips are Van Cleef & Arpels' high jewellery tribute pieces to Benjamin Millepied's ballet 'Reflections', premiere on 23 May 2013 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The music for Benjamin Millepied's choreography is composed by Musical America's 2013 Composer of the Year David Lang. Lang's specially composed work is described as "homage to the hypnotic reflections of precious stones". The visual concept of set and costumes is created by artist Barbara Kruger.
