Union Jack printed cotton shirt, bought from I was Lord Kitchener’s Valet, 1966-7. Photographed with Levi jeans, 1971-6. The owner of this shirt later recalled that it was ‘hard to remember what one wore… At a guess I’d say –flared jeans! The flares would, of course, be triangles of contrasting material sewn into the seam by me.’ Photograph ©Museum of London
