ABSOLUT LABEL 2006

THE 1879 COLLECTION
The designers approached the theme "1879 collection" very individual because of their cultural background or lifestyle. Indian designer Ashish was inspired by the novel ‘A Passage To India’ by EM Forster and features Indian elephants. Apostolos Mitropoulos is the couturier of Greek pop stars, celebrities and glitterati. He is famous for his rubber or leather outfits - it rocks!

photo: I call my creation The Backless-Corset-Bra. It’s an alternative version of the classic corset. A must for all women in 1879. It’s made in a traditional way, using bra wire and eyelets in the back for the lace, and wire bones. I call it ‘backless’ because when you see it from the front, it looks like a corset with a bra attached, but from the back there is not only the usual back of a corset but it looks like a bra. Where the lacing pulls it together at the back, I have incorporated the ABSOLUT bottle shape. Frilly details at the top of the bra are reminiscent of classic Moulin Rouge corsets,Apostolos Mitropoulos, Greece. Apostolos graduated from Veloudakis Fashion College in 1997. He designed outfits for ‘go-go boys’ in nightclubs and still works in the international club and theatre scene, developing suits and costumes for different party organizations. more design >>>
