AFSHIN FEIZ
spring/summer 2008

Afshin Feiz presented this year his s/s 08 collection at the London Fashion Week.

DAWN is the title of the collection inspired by an Aztec myth made of delicate fabrics, summery whites and pastels, and the signature dip-dyeing which symbolizes the battle between good and evil. In older cultures, not only in Aztec culture, serpents represent water and fertility. The shedding of their skins stands for renewal and transformation.

"The goddess Coatlicue, whose name means “Serpent Skirt” was the Earth goddess of life and death. One day she became pregnant with Huitzilopochtli (the God of the Sun) after a ball of feathers fell into the temple where she was sweeping and touched her. This strange pregnancy greatly offended her existing 400 children who were encouraged by their sister Coyolxauhqui to kill their dishonoured mother." next>>>
