GLOOM spring 2008 - Felizitas Auersperg's "Blackhood" made of the „Bow Wow Chow Mein“, designed von Philip de Leon

PIRATIN at GLOOM
spring 2008
Piratin alias Felizitas Auersperg presents since May 2002 her own label "Piratin" in her shop GLOOM in Vienna where you can find international fashion design labels. Shop online www.gloom.at

"City.Myth.Country"

The name of Piratin's new collection is "Stadt.Märchen.Land" - translated from German: "City.Myth.Country". She loves fabrics! For Felizitas extraordinary textiles are treasures she is searching for around the world. This year she chooses textiles with the themes Popeye, Little Red Hiding Hood, Frida Kahlo, and Chinese Backstreetdogs.

In Vienna based Felizitas Auersperg alias "PIRATIN" made her "Blackhood" pieces (a skirt and a hoody) of the comic-textile with the name „Bow Wow Chow Mein“, "Backstreetdogs", designed by the wellknown textile designer Philip de Leon. The "Backstreetdogs" on this light cotton fabric are Chinese dogs searching for something to eat; and while doing this, they are making their strange ”dog”-concert.

Felizitas studied textile technology and design at the oldest fashion school of Vienna, Spengergasse, established in 1758 by Empress Maria Theresia (Habsburg era, Austria). Since 1996 she designs for the Viennese Underground Fashion Scene. 1998 she founded the label Schneeweisschenrosenrot with her partner Ingrid Ederer. The collection was soon awarded with several prizes. In 2000 the first shop opened. Check out the gallery at www.schneeweisschenrosenrot.com.
