In June 2008 British designer Michelle Patrick presents the new Patrick & Skinner collection. She describes her approach to the work as a playful experience of femininity:

The Experience of Femininity

"Then we moved on to the more erotic influences which we found were also inundating the playground to which we wanted to play, and were jolly good at it to! We wanted to create an assortment that revolves around femininity, but also exaggerates it. Cantered around our needs, desires or what we can offer the opposite sex not what they think we need to offer them! ...."

The Designer had a Test Drive!

"As women, we all have them; you know what I'm talking about ladies! That chocolate you love so much but not enough to share it with your thighs! That hard candy that melts in your mouth, that sugar coated fruit that you really shouldn’t eat too much of! We don’t always admit to our guilty pleasures so we thought we would portray them though the colour, design and concept of our delicacies. To be able to wear your favourite indulgence without adding a lb and celebrate your femininity with lush fabrics and trimmings is extremely liberating. We had a test drive, we know!" British designer Michelle Patrick started the label Patrick & Skinner with her girl friend 'Skinner’ who is no longer active in the company. The design graduate Michelle Patrick calls herself a "lingerie fanatic".

"P&S wanted to create a brand that revolves around the ‘woman’. Most brands of course revolve around the woman but do they really revolve around our needs and desires or what we can offer the opposite sex? I began to delve into the indulgences we all have as women - Chocolate, candies, diamonds, fruits, deserts. We don’t always admit to our guilty pleasures so I thought I would portray them though the colour, design and concept of my collections."

The Sweetie Shop

Michelle Patrick loves to collect fashion/vintage pieces and has her own view on expressing female lifestyle. From this love and her interest in female lifestyle this year's collection was created: find strong influences from the era of classic Hollywood glamour, feminine pin-up sirens and 1950’s and 60’s ultra ladylike swimwear patterns.

The pieces in this year's collection are entitled Apple & Custard, Rhubarb & Custard and Banana & Custard ... They are crafted by hand with fine British silks and luxurious silk sashes to be tied in delicious bows sprinkled with details such as silk covered bra straps.
