A&V designers Alex Pogrebnojus and Vida Simanaviciute's
movie-tip in June 2008

In 1993 Alex Pogrebnojus and Vida Simanaviciute founded A&V in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. The label presents two seasonal women's wear collections every year; since April 2008 men's wear. Alongside they also design clothes for individual customers and costumes for theatre performances.

"The most beautiful costumes that help to express the character and enable the viewer to travel in time are in the film "Le Bal" by Etorre Scola. In its spirit and visual expresssion it is one of our most favourite films of all times."

Video: Watch out the kaleidoscope of styles in this ballroom! "Ballando Ballando - ingresso - parte 1" is a scene from "Le Bal" (France 1983), directed by Ettore Scola.

The movie is Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Film of 1983, winner of three Cesars, and has got many other awards. The movie captures 50 years of fashion from the 20ies on.
