Bourdin's photographs offer a radical alternative to conventional fashion images which make beauty and clothing their central elements. The French photographer Guy Bourdin (1928-1991) knew that it is not fashion but its image that seduces and fascinates us. Faced with the challenge to entice the reader with another pair of shoes, he constructed images loaded with implicit narratives, tapping into the conscious and subconscious desires of the viewer...
This is the first museum exhibition of Guy Bourdin's work in Austria. More than 300 works will give you an insight into Guy Bourdin’s oeuvre.
