Jemima Stehli
is one of the most prestigious British artists and over the last few years
her work has become the subject of intense recognition on the part of
the public. This exhibition, produced by the CAV in partnership with the
Lisson Gallery in London, contains a set of photographs in which there
is a very personal exploration of issues such as self-representation,
sexual desire and the quoting of icons from the history of the visual
arts and popular culture. A book with reproductions of the exhibits has
been published to accompany this exhibition, including an introductory
text by Albano Silva Pereira and essays by Michael Tarantino, Barry Schwabsky
and Alexandre Melo.
