Contemporary architecture is about building new spaces by sharing

On 28 August 2012, the Austrian architecture representation at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia (29 August to 25 November 2012) opens at the Convent Abbazia della Misericordia in Venice.

The Austrian headquartered label Swarovski (known for crystals for fashion, interior design, architecture, etc) will contribute the light equipment for the event. The Gothic architecture of the convent will be enlightened by the lamps 'Strandelier' by designer Todd Bracher and the building's entry space by 'Honeycomb' light walls.

The event opens the representation of Austrian architecture at the Giardini della Biennale at the Arsenale in Venice which is on view from 29 August to 25 November 2012. It is announced that the collaborative project of architect Wolfgang Tschapeller, artists Rens Veltman, Martin Perktold, and Artistic Director of the Austrian Commission in Venice Arno Ritter follows the idea of 'Common Ground' of this year's Biennale in Venice with an interactive projection.

The Biennale theme 'Common Ground' references the interaction of cultures and times, disciplines, producers and users which are building together new 'shared' spaces. The title of the Austrian architecture-art project is 'Reports from a City without Architecture' and will be unveiled at the Biennale in Venice.
