Mozart’s
Love
The love code of clothes
Valentine’s
Day for 365 days – this is the impression of Mozart’s time
and its fashion from today’s point of view. During Rococo the main
motivation for the creation of fashion was to communicate love in a playful
way. This year designers re-interpret this Rococo idea for the Triumph
International Fashion Award 06 with modern fashion: ‘Dress up
for Mozart – Rock up Rococo!’
Mozart’s
romantic love
In Rococo the ‘romantic love’ became a more relevant reason
for matrimony. This was an important social change which is even documented
in Mozart’s operas like ‘Così fan tutte’
or ‘The magic flute’. This new moral concept of fidelity
and love made the matrimony an endless erotic dream.
The
love code of clothes
The fitting for the new love concept was made to target directly at the
heart of the lover: bows, flowers on wide, colourful dresses, rouged faces,
powdered hair and artistic hair-installations were the means of attraction.
This was the first time in history that not only the nobles had the right
to cultivate their beauty without any limits.
Rock
up Rococo!
Fashion changes constantly – but the function of fashion stays the
same: the communication of love is still one of the main motivations to
dress up. For the Triumph International Fashion Award 2006 it is not required
to design costumes but to interpret Mozart’s Rococo with new fashion.
Requirements
for the Triumph Fashion Award 2006
The theme of this year’s award 'Dress up for Mozart –
Rock up Rococo!' is focused on creative and innovative design of
women’s wear that celebrates the beauty of luxurious lingerie as
visible and integral parts of clothes. Requirements, timetable and models
for the submission of fashion design between hiding and promising female
attractions are published in fashionoffice.org/triumph.
