Minh Tran, Vietnam/Germany, has translated the fiery temperament of the revolution into an exclusive evening gown. And the effect of this unleashed energy is increased by the rosette (the sign of the revolutionaries) around the knees.

With the outfits by Minh Tran you are always ready for a meeting with Mozart in 2006. Perhaps Minh Tran was inspired for this kind summer outfit by the culinary preferences of Mozart’s time. The jacket in pastel frosty strawberry vanilla is mixed with a flowery balloon skirt.

For the later evening Minh Tran combines knee-breeches in the style of the Culotte of the Rococo period with fish-net stockings in shades of the deep water. This is a perfect outfit to go "on catch".

Thi Minh Uyen Tran, born in Vietnam and living in Germany, studies fashion design at the University of Applied Sciences Trier. Since April 2006 she is assistant lecturer for drawing/painting skills at the University of Applied Sciences Trier.

Lingerie of the 21st century for Madame de Pompadour
How would Madame de Pompadour be dressed if Amadeus Mozart meets her for a date nowadays? 438 fashion designers from Japan, China, the USA, France, Finland, Israel, South Africa up to the Iran, Siberia and the Philippines created for this occasion stylish outfits which are inspired by lingerie of Triumph International.

This year more than 1,500 drawings have been sent for the interpretation of Modern Rococo. A jury of 16 international experts has selected the 7 designers for the public voting of the Triumph International Fashion Award “Dress up for Mozart – Rock up Rococo: Modern Tribute to Rococo”. These 7 Selected designers have mastered both the topic and the challenge to stage luxurious lingerie as an integral part of women’s wear.

Until July 20th, 2006 all fashion addicts are invited to the online voting for the best designer on fashionoffice.org/triumph.

"The Triumph International Fashion Award is a tough challenge for every designer. It isn't so hard to design beautiful clothes. Especially at this award we have noticed that the development of stylish outfits on a sophisticated theme and a professional presentation are very important. However, not only stylish talent but also corresponding technical knowledge is an essential skill to become the winner. And all 7 designers chosen by the international expert jury prove this." Luxurious Lingerie as an integral part of women’s wear is the basic concept the Triumph International Fashion Award. Tatiana Pogrebnyak has taken this challenge as an opportunity to develop a harmonious concept where the loveliness of the underwear finds its uncompromising continuation in women’s wear.

“A bra turns into an undividable part of a blouse, but not as visible underwear. It becomes one of the central design elements, matched with suitable fabrics in colour as in textile, creating a harmonic ensemble. This way the wearer gets a playful look, promising but not vulgar, female attractions being hidden and visible at the same time.”

Tatiana Pogrebnyak, born 1984 in Sevastopol, Ukraine, since 1998 living in Israel, studies currently fashion design at the recognized Shenkar College.

The models of Pogrebnyak reflect the playful Rococo period of Mozart with all its relation to nature. The flowery top is made of Rococo’s most favoured colour rosé. Tatiana combines it with a green skirt whose jewellery cords run like lifelines - as if they would transport water to the flower rose.

The Austrian Angelika Wöss is a trained clothing technician (College Dornbirn) and studies since 2004 at the international Fashion School ESMOD in Munich.

“My topic is about the creation of a modern Madame de Pompadour with a rock & roll feeling, who dresses up for a rendezvous with rock star Mozart and who likes to play with her attractions and shows her curves. Madame de Pompadour was one of the most influential women in France at the time of Rococo and she also set trends in fashion because of her own fashion style. And music genius Mozart was a fashion freak as well and spent much money on his clothes – thus the perfect partner for Madame de Pompadour.
But how can you transform these two stars of Rococo into the 21st century? By taking the sensual – erotic style of their century, combining it with modern rock & roll elements such as leather and rivets and thus making Madame de Pompadour a rocking bride.”

The public voting for the selection of the 3 Finalists for the Triumph International Fashion Award 2006 takes place on fashionoffice.org/triumph until 20th July 2006.
