Fashion and competitions

In the first week of July 2011, two prominent houses for fashion shopping invited to events with a touch of sportive competition - one in Berlin, the other in London.

The Londoner cult fashion mall 'Harrods' is the host of the pop-up store (opened on 5 July, until September) of the Italian shoe and clothing label Geox in cooperation with Red Bull Racing.

In the box is a pair of the limited edition of sport shoes for racing car drivers; the fire-resistant shoes are made of a patented self-regulating technology against heat - keyword 'climate-control'. The booties are worn by the current World Champion Sebastian Vettel and his team colleague Mark Webber during the races.

One day later on 6 July 2011 in Berlin, another well known house for fashion shopping, the European department store chain 'Peek & Cloppenburg' presented new trends by designers in front of a prominent jury headed by Marc Jacobs and guests like Berlin's Mayor Klaus Wowereit during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

The winner of the designer competition "Designer for Tomorrow by Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf" 2011 is Alexandra Kiesel with her colorful, geometrical collection 'Baukasten Individualisten 12/6/24'. It is announced that Alexandra Kiesel will present her new collection at the next Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in January 2012. On designer-for-tomorrow.com she speaks in a video-interview about her collection, Marc Jacobs...
