Meeting with a freeskier and filmmaker at a shoe presentation

I followed an invitation to the showroom of Sorel in Vienna to view the shoe collections by the Canadian outdoor fashion label which is known especially for durable and weather resistant winter footwear - some of them like the Caribou Boots are already 'classics'. For this season, the label added some new fashionable city items - such as coffee shop hangout boots or signal red high-heeled rain boots to the range.

While I was introduced to the collection, I met one of Sorel's 'Get Your Boots Dirty' testimonials, the Austrian freeskier and filmmaker Sandra Lahnsteiner. She just came from the photo shooting for some of the pieces.

'Get Your Boots Dirty' is the name of Sorel's campaign which started last summer 2012 and features women who decided to leave tracks by walking on new ways. Freeskier Sandra Lahnsteiner is one of them. She decided to make films as producer and director about women's freeskiing. In the meanwhile, she produced already her third film with an all-female cast. The 26-minutes film 'Shades of Winter' - the title is inspired by the best-selling book 'Fifty Shades of Grey' (interview with Sandra on ESPN), will premiere on 15 September at 'IF3 - International Freeski Film Festival' in Montreal.
